Pet Paradises in Downtown New West

Downtown New West is full of cute pets, and great places which go out of their way to take care of them! Check out the things you didn't know about Pet Day Care

When it comes to your four legged friends,  Downtown New West has you covered! Boasting everything from grooming to portraits and dental work, our comprehensive list of awesome pet palaces is ready to help you pamper your pooch! But there are a few things you might not know about some of our stores...  Charlie's Petspa doesn’t just handle cases of dirty dogs, they handle cases of rehabilitation, weight loss, over stimulation and even diabetes. That’s right, they’ve seen it all. Shadow the dog pictured below is actually at Charlie’s so they can help her regain her confidence. She was caught in a terrible house fire in Surrey, and since then she has been nervous and traumatized. Since going to Charlie’s Pet Spa though, the staff and other friendly pooches have helped her to calm down a bit, and she greeted us with a giant doggy smile.

Other cases Charlie’s have seen include Raeya, the fat dog. She came in overweight, and no matter what her owner did she couldn’t seem to lose it. Since joining Charlie’s pet spa though, she has lost 8lbs. Then there’s Charlie, the adorable chocolate lab. Charlie is so excited and high energy, her owner can’t seem to catch up, or catch any Z’s at night. Charlie’s enthusiastic staff takes her out for at least three runs a day to wear her out so that at night, her and her mom can sleep peacefully.

Charlie’s Pet Spa truly believes in educating pet parents, and supporting local animal charities. They even collect donations for the New West Animal Shelter in office. Charlie’s message to all pet owners is simple. Take care of your pets, puppies prance when they look pretty! Get your dog washed and properly groomed every 4-6 weeks, because while brushing and bathing your dog at home by yourself is a good idea in the interim, a professional dog groomer can spot the things you might miss. A groomer can spot irregularities in fur or skin, or shave and cut hair close enough to see sores, and even cancerous lumps.  Dogs at Charlie’s Pet Spa have had their lives saved by a good grooming on more than one occasion!

Zoomies Dog Day Care and Training Centre offer a plethora of amenities for pets! From training and daycare, to grooming and a dental clinic everything is clean, bright and comfortable in their award winning facility. As if that’s not enough, Zoomies offers a pet portrait studio, and a boutique featuring some great pet supplies.  Bosley’s by Pet Valu is a haven for pets. Bosley’s offers one on one aid to pet owners, helping you maintain your pet’s health to the best of your ability. They even offer Pet First Aid Courses! Bosley’s really believes in supporting local animal charities, and has raised over 15000 dollars since opening 3 years ago for local rescues and shelters. They also offer a foster home for cats and dogs, who are adopted out to loving families; they have found new homes for over 100 at this point.
