#Pride2018: Window Decor in Downtown New West

Tuesday, August 21, 2018

Pride Week was a complete success! Even if you didn’t go out to any of the events, there was still a lot to look at as you walked down the streets of Downtown New West.

Every year, many of our local businesses participate in the Pride window decorating competition to see who can beautify their store the best pride way possible.

Relive the rainbow glory below!

Grand Central Consignment

Grand Central Consignment created a rainbow of dresses! The colors really pop against the black and white stripes. This store is a little hidden, located on Carnarvon Street, but it certainly stands out!

Bosley's

Bosley's went all out this year with an interactive display that let people answer “Love is…”. Some memorable answers included ‘a wet nose and a warm hug’, ‘letting people be who they are and loving who they love’, and ‘important to give and receive’.

Brick and Mortar

In addition to their giant, lit up letters spelling LOVE in one window, Brick and Mortar decorated their second window with all things rainbow. This included scarves, confetti, and the transexual, bisexual and LGBTQA+ flags, all tied together with cute Pride balloons.

Not like we’re bragging or anything, but did anyone see how beautiful our decorations were? In case you missed our first installation, a balloon rainbow, we went back to re-decorate with a curtain of chain links. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to cover the windows in glitter, but it’s still pretty amazing.

An A+ to our local businesses for showing their support this year! #Pride2018
