Continuing a long-standing tradition, the Hyack Festival Association is hosting the Canada Day Fireworks at the Quay in New Westminster on July 1st, 2018. Come early to secure your spot on the boardwalk for this exciting event. River Market has some fun planned all day too!

The Arts Council of New Westminster in conjunction with Alex Jopson of City to Suburb Real Estate Group and the City of New Westminster are excited to be brining back MUSIC BY THE RIVER at Westminster Pier Park on six Thursday nights in July and August 2018.
Following the success of last year, this summer concert series will again take place against the Fraser River backdrop on Thursday nights from 6-8pm. Once again at the Eats at the Pier concession stand we will be serving drinks from New West’s own Steel and Oak Brewing Co. and Pacific Breeze winery. The entire park will be one massive site-licensed area allowing you to take your drink anywhere within the park!
Enjoy every aspect of this beautiful park, whether it be the beach volleyball courts, hammocks, grass fields, basketball courts, or breathe taking views of the Fraser River. Be sure to take your drink all the way down to take a selfie with Wow Westminster public art, New Westminster’s Giant W. Make sure to plan your trip to the event, as the park is within a short walk from Columbia and New Westminster Skytrain Stations.

The New West Grand Prix is an international professional cycling race taking place in historic downtown New Westminster.
The New West Grand Prix is a member of BC Superweek, one of the most prestigious cycling events in North America. The criterium-style race features a mass start and a 935-meter circuit that cyclists navigate for an expected 45-55 laps. More than 200 male and female cyclists will pass by every minute, making the New West Grand Prix a thrilling spectator experience. We are excited to host some of the best riders from around the world with over 13 different nationalities represented.

Join us for a spine-tingling 90 minute walk through BC's original capital. Learn the chilling history of BC's hanging judge, one of BC's oldest houses, a haunted tattoo parlour and much more.
This tour meets in Hyack Square at the Corner of 8th and Columbia Streets at 8pm.
***Please note that New Westminster is built on a very steep hill and we scale that hill during the tour.

Circus Jam New West!
Come have fun in the sun at the first "official" Pier Park circus jam. Get your acro on or rock out with your props out! Meet somewhere on the grassy space to the east of the concession area. Bring a yoga mat or towel if you don't want to get all grassy. There are also beach volleyball courts, a basketball court and hammocks if you want to partake in other sunny activities. Hope to see you there!
This is a public event so please pass on to anyone who might be interested.
