Evening in Tuscany

Want to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable and lonely seniors in New Westminster? This October 1st at 5:00pm Seniors Services Society will be holding our 3rd Annual Evening in Tuscany event; an Italian inspired dinner and show at La Perla Ballroom at the River Market. The funds raised will go directly towards the operation of our Support Services programs, which serve over 700 New Westminster seniors annually. A non-profit agency, Seniors Services Society provides a range of services for seniors who need a little assistance to live safe, comfortable, healthy and independent lives. In the last year our programs have included: Meals on Wheels: 7,423 low cost, nutritious meals delivered to over 60 clients Dining & Lunch Club: 141 trips on our 16 passenger bus to eat and socialize in local restaurants Better at Home: 7,057 appointments to provide housekeeping, grocery shopping, transportation & support calls Assistance, Information & Referrals: 137 volunteer-led sessions to assist with income benefits and form filling Social Programs: 238 outings to entertainment, attractions, the Farmers Market, Nordic Walking and the mall Income Tax Preparation: 800 free tax returns filed for low income seniors These programs are not fully funded, and are run by over 100 volunteers. In order to keep them fueled we rely on generous annual donations from individuals and businesses in our community. We need your support to continue these vital Support Services.
