Thrive Talks with Director Curator Sarah Joyce

For our 16th THRIVE Talk we thought we’d create a truly unique THRIVE Talks experience! We’re excited to announce that director curator of New Media Gallery Sarah Joyce will be our speaker for June. The New Media Gallery is a contemporary public art gallery devoted to the presentation of international, national and regional new media art and also happens to be one of our very favourite galleries. In the first part of the evening Sarah will share her inspiring THRIVE Talk with us and then will give us a private guided tour of the gallery and their current Bridge exhibit! We will enjoy a talk and a tour all in one night. The talk will take place in the Anvil Centre on Thursday, June 29th from 6:30pm until 8pm. Then it will be time for a tour around the gallery for personal after hours tour of the Bridge exhibit! After the talk there will be time to ask questions and mingle until 9pm. It’s our first time leaving Vancouver for a THRIVE Talk but the Anvil Centre is just a two minute walk from New Westminster skytrain station. This unique experience will be well worth a little extra travel! ------------------------------------------------------------------ THRIVE Talks speakers are successful women—including those who are cis, trans, gender non-binary, gender-fluid and femme-identified—in the arts who share their journeys, successes and advice. With a single speaker for the night we are able to really get to know them and dive deep on certain topics that relate specifically to artists' lives. We want everyone who purchases a ticket to be serious about attending the talk and expanding their art practice and business. We won't offer a refund but you are welcome to transfer your ticket to your friend. Is this event for women only? This event is for cis and trans women, as well as gender non-binary, gender-fluid and femme-identified folks. It is not a place for cis-men, sorry gentlemen!
