CarnaWest: Brazilian Fest Is Here!
Your summer just got better! Hosted by CarnaWest and Brazilian Community Association of BC, the event is a free Brazilian music and food festival in the heart of Downtown New West.
Held in Westminster Pier Park on Saturday, August 4th from 12-8pm, CarnaWest is all about celebrating Brazilian culture. The festival will feature live music and performances, a beer garden, and food, promoting the rich heritage of Brazil and its vibrant community living here in BC.
Come check out their talented music lineup! Musical guests hitting the CarnaWest stage will include Guilherme Luz and Leandro Trocoli. Get ready to dance!
In case you needed more of a reason to visit, the amazing Brazilian Swag Dance Group and Sambacouver will be performing Capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, music and acrobatics and more!
Vancouver's first Brazilian food truck focusing on indigenous influences will also be one of the several food options at the festival featuring local Brazilian cuisine and food vendors. Confirmed mouth-watering options include Brazilian street food from Whatafood (voted one of the Richmond Night Market’s Top 10 Popular dishes!), and Coxinha by Boteco Brasil. Deep-fried pastry pocket filled with melted cheese and herbs? Sign me up!
