StageFest 2019

The Downtown New West BIA is excited to sponsor The Stage Musical Theatre Academy’s second annual StageFest; a yearly event celebrating youth in performing arts.

The Festival consists of performances by the Junior Acting, Junior Musical Theatre, and Intermediate Musical Theatre production classes as well as performances by the Ballet, Tap and Creative Dance classes. Students have been working for a year honing their skills and rehearsing their shows to present an action packed weekend of storytelling magic. Join us as we showcase the future of the Arts in New Westminster.
Tickets are now available for multiple shows and dates. All shows are appropriate for 5+ years.

Honk! Jr. June 6 at 7pm, June 8 at 5pm, June 9 at 4pm

A heartwarming celebration of being different that is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its sparkling wit, unique charm and memorable score. Witty and hilarious, but also deeply moving, Honk! JR. will treat your audiences to equal amounts of laughter and tears.
This production is performed by Intermediate Musical Theatre students aged 11-16.

Charlotte's Web June 7 at 7pm, June 8 at 3:30pm, June 9 at 2:30pm

This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that give the audience an evening of enchantment.

The Many Disguises of Robin Hood June 6 & June 7 at 5:30pm, June 9 at 1pm

When a young girl from Nottingham joins Robin’s band of outlaws, she discovers Robin’s secret: Robin Hood is actually a woman. Eventually, Robin needs her merry band of outlaws and her childhood friend, the brave Maid Marian, to use all of their quarterstaffs, swords, arrows and wits to save her from the gallows.
The Many Disguises of Robin Hood is performed by Junior Acting students ages 7-10.
