Coffee is Going to the Birds...Crows to be Exact

Old Crow Coffee is one of the only specialty coffee shops in Downtown New West, we asked why they chose to open up on Front Street.

Stephanie Vu, an Orange County native, came to the Lower Mainland 4 years ago for metal fabrication school. Stephanie became familiar with New West by passing through on her way to and from work (at a fabrication shop of course) and soon realized there was a need for speciality coffee shops in Downtown New West.

This need sparked an idea, an idea that soon led to Stephanie owning and operating her very own coffee shop on Front Street. So, why Front Street? Stephanie and her business partners noticed the vacant storefront while you guessed it, driving to work one day, and immediately called the landlord to view the space. The feel and character of Front Street really stood out to them and after a space fell through in East Van they knew they had to jump on Front Street.

Fast forward to March 2015 and Old Crow Coffee opened its doors! Not only do they specialize in coffees and teas but they also make fresh to order sandwiches (you gotta try the Croque Fille) and pastries, all made in house.

Old Crow Coffee isn't just a coffee shop, it's a meeting and gathering space, it's an art gallery, it's a studio for open mic nights (Open MiCROWphone) and maybe....*spoiler alert* karaoke nights. If you haven't yet, head down to Front Street and pop in to 655 Front Street.
