What is that? You want Drag? We got you! Dust and Channing Titanium, 2 of the Lower Mainland's most comedic drag performers will take the stage.
Erin Jeffery is a relapsed actor and professional communicator. She has been lucky enough to perform all around the Lower Mainland in film, television and stage over the past two decades. She recently appeared in Singin in the Rain with Royal City Musical Theatre and was named in the Top Ten in the CBC Next Up Comedy Competition in 2019. She has performed at Lafflines, Yuk Yuks, assorted casinos and dive bars and is thrilled to be back for the second year of GAYlarious!

The record is a highly personal and hilarious insight into her experience as a second generation Japanese-Canadian. Through a veil of humour and pop culture references, Yumi tackles the taboo, overcoming stereotypes through crowd work and racy humour. You name it, she talks about it: sex, white privilege, being a woman and racism.

SO5 - Steel & Oak turns 5
01:00pm -06:00pm
On Sunday July 7th we’ll be celebrating 5 years in the lot behind our brewery!
If you’ve been to the previous parties here are a few changes we’ve made this year for your S&O party enjoyment!
1️⃣ Larger Space: we’ll be taking over the entire parking lot!
2️⃣ Higher Occupancy: previous years we’ve had 500 people allowable at a time, this year it’ll be 1,000 so no long line up to get in.
3️⃣ More Kids Stuff: we’ve done away with the bouncy castles for more interactive activities for your kiddos to enjoy!
4️⃣ Longer Hours: we’ve gone from a 3 hour party to a 5 hour one so you can have a larger window to swing by!
5️⃣ Multiple Food Vendors: @bigdaybbq, @dlchicken and @earnesticecream will all be hanging out. You can buy food direct from the vendors rather than pre buying a ticket.
6️⃣ Less Lining Up: we’ll have more token stations, more beer stations, more staff to allow everyone to wait less, enjoy more.
7️⃣ Expanded Merch and Bottle Shop: the Party is in the back so we’ll be turning our Tasting Room into a merch/bottle/can shop with lots of new items for the party including some rare beers brought out of the cellar for you to take home and maybe a tasty treat brewed just for Sunday.
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday July 7th for an afternoon of beer, food, music and your neighbours all hanging out at Steel & Oak!

"We just wanted to get a group of accomplished players together to create some great music and recapture some of the energy and passion that got us into the music business in the first place. No musical boundaries, We are letting the songs take us wherever they may lead and just letting the music speak for itself."
These veteran rockers are proud to present a live concert performance of their brand new album "Rollin' Again" in its entirety on July 13th at New Westminster's historic Columbia Theatre.
Opening the show will be their good friends Peddle Train, another group of well seasoned pros, who will be performing material from their own recently released album, Natural Disaster.

In lean startup terminology, validation is the process of testing a hypothesis (your business idea) by speaking to the ideal advisory board - your potential customers! You don’t have to be a startup tech company to take advantage of this technique. Groundswell alumni have launched non-profit organizations, design firms, catering companies, textile recycling initiatives, coffee import businesses and more, all using this simple but deep methodology.
Are you an entrepreneur at heart? Do you need resources but ‘business school’ is NOT your jam? Do you have a strong desire to support yourself and make a change in the world? Groundswell might be a good fit for you. We invite you to be our guest at this awesome 2.5 hour workshop (valued at $300) with Groundswell educator, Elena Yugai.
Elena brings her experience as an investment manager at Helder Ventures, a Vancouver-based impact investment firm, and as a cultural historian to her work at Groundswell. She has a special interest in immigrant, refugee and women-led social enterprises. Elena is passionate about growing Vancouver’s social enterprise ecosystem. She has been named one of BC’s Most Influential Women in Tech - STEM Stars 2018 by BC Magazine for her work advocating for and supporting women in technology.
