Fernando Lessa combines his skills as a photographer with a passion for outdoor activities and the natural world to document the important relationships between humankind and nature. Fernando will be presenting his project “The Heart of the Fraser”, a photography series collected into a book through his collaboration with the BCIT Rivers Institute’s Ken Ashley. This work is a beautiful homage to the Lower Fraser River, featuring breathtaking views of the river and the life it supports. From majestic views of the Fraser delta to snapshots of Salmon travelling upriver to spawn, his presentation is sure to delight and inspire audiences of all ages! This session will conclude with a Q&A session. Registration is free and includes a link to the Zoom meeting. We hope you will join us! Presented by the Port of Vancouver, RiverFest is a FREE family-friendly festival taking place on the 26th and 27th of September, and a great way to celebrate the arrival of fall along the beautiful Fraser River! This year’s event will be divided into two days of activities on the last weekend of September, featuring: - The return of the Family Fun Zone to the FRDC! Join us on Saturday, Seotember 26th to try out family-friendly art, crafts, and educational activities that are sure to delight and inspire! Pre-registration will be required for admission to the Centre. - Online speakers and musical performers throughout the day, featured on our website and social media channels! - Staff-led Family-friendly nature workshops on Sunday, September 27th! The FRDC is excited to announce the return of RiverFest for its 18th year! Presented by the Port of Vancouver, RiverFest is a FREE family-friendly festival taking place on the 26th and 27th of September, and a great way to celebrate the arrival of fall along the beautiful Fraser River!
This year’s event will be divided into two days of activities on the last weekend of September, featuring:
