Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm
Location: Online

The FRDC invites you to join us on Saturday, November 7th, 2:30-4:00pm, for a presentation and talk by marine artist and lifeboat pilot John Horton! John combines artistic talent with a focus on historical accuracy to produce paintings of stunning and photorealistic detail. A member of the Canadian Society of Marine Artists, the Federation of Canadian Artists, and The Honourable Company of Master Mariners of Canada, Mr. Horton’s works are prized by museums, art galleries, and private collections across the globe. In addition to his incredible talents as an artist, Mr. Horton also brings with him close to 40 years of combined search & rescue experience on the river. Currently he pilots the historic ex-US Navy vessel, Delta Lifeboat, assisting mariners in distress and providing volunteer training as a member of the Canadian Lifeboat Institution. His time spent on the Fraser has given him in-depth knowledge of the river and its people, boats, and bustling economy. Mr. Horton will be sharing stories of the mighty Fraser using maps, photos of commercial activities, and his paintings that capture the vibrant history of Canada’s longest river. This session will conclude with a Q&A session. We hope you will join us! Pre-registration is required, and includes a link to the Zoom meeting.
