Time: 6:30pm - 9:00pm
+ Calendar 11/07/2017 06:30 PM 11/07/2017 09:00 PM America/Vancouver Fraser River Dialogue “How do you Plan for and Clean up a Spill on the Fraser River?" A Conversation with Cultural, Environmental and Economic Planning Experts from the Western Canada Marine Response Corporation Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 at the Fraser River Discovery Centre Throughout history different uses of the Fraser River have always had impacts that needed to be controlled and managed. Federal, provincial, regional and local government regulations are in place to help ensure that industries, user groups and the general public limit any negative impacts, but emergencies and accidents can still happen. To help us better understand the situation with respect to emergency planning and response for the Fraser River, the FRDC will be hosting a conversation with representatives from the Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC). WCMRC is a Transport Canada certified Response Organization whose mandate is to ensure there is a state of preparedness in place and to mitigate the impact when an accident occurs. This includes the protection of wildlife, economic and environmental sensitivities, and the safety of both the responders and the public. Experts in these areas will join FRDC Executive Director Stephen Bruyneel for a “fire-side” chat and facilitated audience dialogue on this critical Fraser River issue. That will be followed by a facilitated Q&A with the audience. Get your tix now, only $25 (includes a wine & cheese reception), via the event's website above. false MM/DD/YYYY aMyetLVwQzjnGkYtOmxH22158
