+ Calendar 07/03/2019 06:00 PM 07/03/2019 10:00 PM America/Vancouver GAYlarious - Another Comedy Fundraiser We're back! We love to laugh, and we think you probably like to as well. Join us on July 3rd for an evening of laughter, fun, excitement and friends as we raise money for New West Pride Society! The evenings lineup will leave you with your cheeks hurting and tears of laughter. The evening will be hosted once again by the amazingly talented and funny (trust us, she will crack you up) Jennifer Robertson. Jennifer is a Vancouver born and raised actress and writer who you may just recognize from CBC's Schitt's Creek! What is that? You want Drag? We got you! Dust and Channing Titanium, 2 of the Lower Mainland's most comedic drag performers will take the stage. Erin Jeffery is a relapsed actor and professional communicator. She has been lucky enough to perform all around the Lower Mainland in film, television and stage over the past two decades. Lately she's been performing stand up comedy because its simultaneously terrifying and invigorating. Kind of like sky diving. But with less chance of death. She recently appeared in Singin in the Rain with Royal City Musical Theatre and was named in the Top Ten in the CBC Next Up Comedy Competition in 2019. She has performed at Lafflines, Yuk Yuks, assorted casinos and dive bars and is thrilled to be back for the second year of GAYlarious! Steev Letts is a big sweaty gay oaf. He finds inspiration in the many gross rituals that unite us all, and aims to make you laugh at that which makes you cringe. Steev won the 2018 Vancouver Yuk Off, won Breakout Artist of the Year at the 2019 Vancouver Comedy Awards and has performed at JFL Northwest and the Grindstone Comedy Festival. Yumi Nagashima is a Vancouver based comedian. A mainstay on the Vancouver comedy scene, and racking up millions of views on Youtube, she has had international cult success. She has been featured as a part of Just For Laughs North West, CBC’s Debaters, The Winnipeg Comedy Festival and was a finalist in the 2016 & 2017 Yuk Off Competition. Yumi grew up in Tokyo before moving to Vancouver, Canada, starting in acting in 2015 and making a splash in the Vancouver comedy scene with her debut in 2016. My Name is Yumi (2019) is Yumi Nagshima's first release with 604 Records' Comedy insert Comedy Here Often? The record is a highly personal and hilarious insight into her experience as a second generation Japanese-Canadian. Through a veil of humour and pop culture references, Yumi tackles the taboo, overcoming stereotypes through crowd work and racy humour. You name it, she talks about it: sex, white privilege, being a woman and racism. Janice Bannister, is an International Headliner who hails from New Westminster via the West Kootenays. She is a two time winner of BC's Funniest Female, and has been featured on CBC, CTV and the Women's Network. She has toured with the "I am Woman Hear Me Laff" (2014 & 2018), and the HA Ha Sisterhood. She is the "comedy Momma" to over 732 comedy students that she has worked with in her Laughter Zone 101 stand-up comedy classes. You are guaranteed a fantastic night of laughter. Doors at 6:00 pm, Show 6:30 sharp This is a 19+ event. Due to the unpredictability of our comics Viewer Discretion Is Advised. New West Pride and The Columbia acknowledge that this event is taking place on the unceded territory of the Qayqayt First Nations and Coast Salish people.
