National Indigenous Peoples Day

Thursday, June 21, 2018, 10:00 am-2:00 pm Westminster Pier Park, New Westminster FREE and open to the public Presented by Spirit of the Children Society in partnership with New Westminster Museum & Archives, join us for this free and diverse event celebrating the drum of Indigenous Cultures. This event includes performances by Smokey Valley, Ta Na Wa Kawstem, Ache Brasil, South Asian Arts, Uzume Taiko, and features Storyteller William Nahanee. Red Fox Healthy Living Society's youth leaders will guide children and families in circus arts, stilts, pogo sticks, hula hoops and group games - to get everyone active and playing together. We are giving away free pieces of bannock, indigenous books for children while supplies last, and will have a variety of activities including traditional arts & crafts and artist and information booths. Eats at the Pier Concession will be open for the event.
