New West Free Market: Grand Opening of Winter Location

Grand Opening of New West Free Market Winter Location Saturday November 11th 12-4PM 740 Carnarvon St. We are happy to announce we will have a home inside the Russel Residence building in the basement community room. To celebrate we have invited the Carnival Band to lead us in a mini-parade from our new spot to New West station. There will be a Potluck lunch as usual and OPEN Mic if anyone wants to come share some music, jokes or whatever be creative! The Free Market celebrates life without money. We invite you to take a break from capitalism and enjoy some priceless fun at your local community carnival! We build community by sharing necessities, food, skills, crafts, ideas, advice, and extra things with one another! Bring what you are able, even if it's just yourself....everybody has something to give and the more we share the richer we all are. Perform a song, give a massage, teach yoga, teach weaving, scribble a poem, choreograph a dance, give a tarot card reading, fix a bike, perform a skit, trade your crystals, tell a joke! You are encouraged to make this your own, and participate in whatever ways you see fit in the strive for building a community living on mother earth free from capitalism and full of collaboration. In unity we thrive, anything is possible! Bring seeds to share or find seeds you need. ♥ This event takes place on unceded, occupied ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish peoples. As settlers uninvited to these lands we acknowledge that we are unable to do anti-racist work without using its resources and are complicit in a colonial system that perpetuates violence against Indigenous Peoples.
