Super Saturday – Fiery Friend and Foe!

Taking place on the last Saturday of each month at the Fraser River Discovery Centre, Super Saturdays is a series of public programs geared toward families. There are lots of activities that explore different features of the Fraser River, from its booming industry to its diverse ecosystem! The smoky season is upon us, and with it the promise of future forest renewal. Fire is an essential and healthy part of the river ecosystem that has been monitored and managed in many forms by First Nations communities for generations. As our climate becomes hotter and drier; however, the potential impact of fires also grows in complicated, and sometimes devastating, ways. From ignition through to the growth of new seedlings, join us for July’s Super Saturday to get to know this fiery force!
