#RoyalCityGems: Banh Mi Bar

Me want this stuff all the time...

A perfectly crisp baguette. Tender seasoned meat. An assortment of fresh veggies. We ain't talking Subway. It's BANH Mi BAR baby!

The Vietnamese eatery opened its doors in the summer of 2016 and it's been a huge hit with locals. And how could it not be?

Their menu is extensive with all sorts of options (from meat to vegan).

Their ingredients are fresh and their subs are incredibly flavourful.

Their prices. Those prices. $4.50 for a huge sub? We'll take 4 thank you.

And their service is exceptional! The owners, Lily & Tung, are so friendly and are real joy to speak with.

In fact, after chatting with them for a short bit, they are genuinely excited about their venture. They speak with passion about Downtown New West's revival and recent development.  How they are excited to be a part of such a vibrant community.

They understand our community is growing, and that the Vancouver foodie scene is expanding out east to New West. And since there are no banh mi places around, why not fulfill that need? (Which we love them for)

Our convo ended with them expressing the most sincere thanks to their customers and the community. They said residents have shown them such support since day one!

Tung's Recommendation: Pork Patty - the pork is seasoned to perfection and has a nice hint of garlic to it.

Lily's Recommendation: Vegan - it's light and healthy and filled to the brim with veggies.
