Ultimate Cafe Guide: The Best Spots to Grab a Cozy Cup of Coffee in DTNW
Maybe it’s the falling leaves, or the crisp afternoons and rainy days, but there’s something about autumn that just makes you want to find the perfect place to cozy up and sip on something warm.
Whether you’re looking for a place to increase your productivity and get back to the grind, or you’re just trying to find a good spot to cozy up and read a good book, here’s our guide to the best coffee shops in downtown New Westminster.
The Hive Cafe
Hidden away on front street, the Hive’s meticulously handcrafted beverages are some of the best in New West. Try their smooth and rich coffee beverages for a buzz or opt for one of their non coffee alternatives, such as a chai latte for something spicy to keep you warm on a cool day.

The Hideout Cafe
With an ever-changing menu of soups, sandwiches and pastries, the hideout cafe is a great place to grab a bite to eat. Our personal favourites are their tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (the perfect savoury combination), or their cinnamon buns (which are always best fresh out of the oven if you can manage to get your hands on them in time).

Old Crow
Not only does Old Crow have a great selection of food and drinks, but they’re also the perfect spot for those looking for a place with a cozy coffee shop vibe. Come here for the warm and cozy interior, exposed brick walls and comfy leather couches -- the perfect space for gloomy autumn days.

Tregalli
Although many know them for their ice cream, Tregalli is also a great spot to grab an authentic Italian coffee! For the full experience, order a cappuccino or espresso to sip on while you enjoy a scenic view of the Fraser river (optional - you could also pretend you’re actually sitting along a canal in Italy, no one will know the difference).

Craft Cafe
Why not get crafty while you grab a coffee? Pop in for Paint and Sip evenings with non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage options, or try your hand at calligraphy during one of their Studio Sessions. Although they’ve recently moved out of the River Market, they plan to reopen soon along Quayside Drive (click here to see if they’re open).
