#QuestNewWest offers a weekly adventure around the downtown area, full of fun challenges that are free and accessible to all. This will be a scavenger hunt style experience, however where you go and how you complete the challenges is up to you. Share your experience online for a chance to win weekly prizes and submit your answers on the event website where you could win the $1000 cash grand prize!
At noon each Thursday we will release the challenges & clues online. Complete the challenges and submit your answers by 8pm each Monday for a chance at the grand prize of $1000!

Canada Day in New West 2021

Start off your summer & discover your community using the inspiration, activities, and tools the city of New West provides to make this experience like no other.
Registration is now open for three unique celebration kits such as Canada Day Family Celebration Kit, Coming Out Of Quarantine Kitchen Dessert & Kit, and Seniors Canada Day Lunch Kit.
More is being planned, such as Quest New West, to help you choose your own adventure within New Westminster!

Canada Day: A day to reflect

Our suggested activities encompass family, food, movement and creativity, as they are common features in all cultures. We do not celebrate the hurtful legacy and ongoing impacts of colonization, but rather the opportunity to grow and heal together.

Family Place staff will be at Pier park each Thursday to provide play and early learning programming for your little ones, planned by their insightful and creative Early Childhood Educators! Enjoy a chance to connect with other families and chat with their staff. Whether you just need someone to chat with or if you are needing any extra support; our Family Support Workers are available to help you access the resources your family needs to thrive this summer!
Drop-ins are an open time with continous programming opportunities; come and go whenever is convenient for you. There is no registration required and you do not need to line up or arrive at a certain time.
You will be asked to check in with a staff member and sanitize your hands with the sanitizer provided.

Youth Services, Royal City Sound, DJ’s are back at the pier! Join them on Friday nights at Westminster Pier Park for some tunes. DJ’s will be mixing music and Youth Workers will be wandering the park with prizes and games.

The two much-loved local Vancouver chicken spots are popping up at New Westminster’s Steel & Oak Brewing (1319 3rd Avenue) from July 9 to 11.
The brewery will be serving up an array of exclusive eats from the minds of Juke Chef/Co-Owner Bryan Satterford and DL Chef/Co-Owner Doug Stephen alongside its lineup of craft brews.
